Job AnalysisNational non-profit taps Vantage for comprehensive job analysis.
Situation: Vantage conducted a comprehensive HR Assessment for a national non-profit organization. Vantage presented the results to the non-profit in the form of a recommendation report outlining our findings and conclusions and making numerous recommendations for improvement. One of the recommendations was to conduct a job analysis for the organization and to conduct a nationally benchmarked compensation study to determine the best practices for its salary structure. The organizational selected Vantage to provide this service.
Goal: To assess and analyze the organization’s goals and objectives to ensure that the job positions were strategically aligned to meet the comprehensive and changing needs of the organization, to ensure that positions were slotted correctly based on market data and to formulate a salary structure.
Process: The job analysis consisted of assessing and analyzing the mission, goals and objectives of the organization, the performance objectives of each department, reviewing the organizational structure for each department, job descriptions and individual employee performance objectives. Vantage worked with the CEO and CAO to develop new departmental structures and then with each Department head to understand the goals for which they were responsible and devise an organizational structure to meet that need. Finally, using a one-on-one interview job analysis process, we developed and revised job descriptions for each position within numerous departments. Vantage also conducted a compensation study to compare the current situation to national benchmarks applying a quantitative approach to the formulation of the salary structure.
Results: While this project was underway, the priorities of the (now former) CEO shifted to focus on the compensation study, which was completed and new salaries adopted as needed. The job analysis project is expected to resume when new leadership is in place.
